Structured Family Caregiving (SFC) is a program in Indiana that allows family members to become formal caregivers for their loved ones through Medicaid waivers, such as the Aged and Disabled (A&D) Waiver and the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Waiver. These waivers provide support and funding to enable family members to care for their loved ones at home.
Caregivers must select a structured family caregiving provider agency to act as their employer. These agencies handle administrative tasks, training, and payroll, allowing caregivers to focus on providing the best possible care. SFC provider agencies offer personalized caregiver training tailored to each family's needs, ongoing support through regular check-ins and resources, and a tax-free daily stipend to reduce the financial burden of caregiving.
